چکیده
Abstract Background Periprosthetic joint infection is a serious complication after total arthroplasty and polymicrobial PJI which compose subtype of often indicate worse outcomes compared to monomicrobial periprosthetic infection. However, literature review suggested that there were limited number studies evaluating the risk factors PJI. Materials methods Between 2015 January 2019 December, 64 patients 158 in tertiary center included this study corresponding medical records scrutinized. The diagnosis was based on 2014 MSIS criteria. Logistic regression used identify association between various variables ROC curve their efficiency. Results prevalence 28.3% our cohorts. After adjusting for presence sinus, previous knee infection, isolation enterococci (OR, 3.025; 95%CI (1.277,7.164) p = 0.012), with atypical organisms 5.032;95%CI: (1.470,17.229) 0.01), gram-negative 2.255; (1.011,5.031) 0.047), streptococcus spp. 6; (2.094,17.194) 0.001), CNS (OfR, 2.183;95%CI (1.148,4.152) 0.017) related decreased an adjusted OR 0.479 ( 0.023). Conclusion This demonstrated patients. Moreover, sinus tract revisions identifying different bacterial species intraoperative specimens. Therefore, these cases, it necessary examine multiple specimens both tissue synovial fluid increasing detection rate obtaining resistance information.

Prevention of Periprosthetic Joint Infection
Prosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a calamitous complication with high morbidity and substantial cost. The reported incidence is low but it is probably underestimated due to the difficulty in diagnosis. PJI has challenged the orthopaedic community for several years and despite all the advances in this field, it is still a real concern with immense impact on patients, and the healthcare system....
متن کاملRisk factors for periprosthetic joint infection in total knee arthroplasty.
PURPOSE To evaluate the incidence and risk factors of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in a high-volume hospital. METHODS Records of 1133 primary TKAs were reviewed. Correlation between surgery volume and infection rate was determined. Risk factors for PJI were identified using case-control analysis of variables. TKAs performed between ...
متن کاملIncreased Risk of Heterotopic Ossification Following Revision Hip Arthroplasty for Periprosthetic Joint Infection
Purpose: To investigate whether surgery for PJI of the hip, the number of procedures and their duration contribute to risk of HO formation. Methods: 56 patients with hip PJI undergoing one-stage (10) or two-stage (46) exchange arthroplasty were matched to 112 patients undergoing revision arthroplasty for aseptic failure based on age, gender, body mass index (BMI), surgical approach (all direct...
